Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain quality improvement processes and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Identify testing gaps and advise on plans to improve solution quality.
  • Estimate system setup, test case creation, execution time, and resource requirements.
  • Set up hardware and software test environments and manage test equipment inventory.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to understand requirements and define test coverage.
  • Review software designs, functional specifications, user scenarios, and existing test coverage.
  • Design, implement, execute, and analyze test cases, procedures, and results.
  • Report defects and track defect resolutions.
  • Communicate test status, risks, mitigation plans, and quality decisions to project leads and managers.
  • Create test plans, installation procedures, process improvement documentation, and traceability matrices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of software test engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of software test methodologies and quality strategy.
  • Experience with test coverage analysis, test execution, and defect management.
  • Experience participating in an agile software development lifecycle and using agile project management tools.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Postman, and TestNG.
  • Basic programming skills in Java.
  • Basic understanding of Linux commands and filesystems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and English proficiency.
  • Preferred: retail industry experience.
  • Preferred: experience setting up physical and virtual test environments, including local containerized environments and integrated customer-like solutions.
