Base Salary
$93k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and operate backend platform components, APIs, SDKs, and integration frameworks.
- Own platform areas and evolve contracts, versioning, interoperability, and compatibility-safe upgrade paths.
- Diagnose complex distributed-service issues and improve availability, performance, capacity, monitoring, logging, resilience, and automation.
- Partner with OCI engineers on consumer needs, design and code reviews, and adoption of platform capabilities.
- Create technical documentation, samples, and operational guidance, and participate in service support, incident investigation, and root-cause follow-up.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software-development experience; advanced degree holders may have fewer years of experience.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or systems programming language such as Java, C++, C#, or Go.
- Experience building backend services, APIs, microservices, SDKs, or developer-facing platform capabilities.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, secure software development, API design, integration, versioning, testing, source control, and production troubleshooting.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with highly available scalable cloud services, RESTful APIs, containers, cloud-native deployment, observability, service reliability engineering, database technologies, multi-tenant service design, and technical documentation.
