Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and maintain core Securities Finance and Collateral Management platform components.
- Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, from implementation and design updates through delivery and technical issue resolution.
- Evaluate architectural options, frameworks, infrastructure, and third-party tools with regard to scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and cost.
- Build and improve automated integration tests and promote test-driven and behavior-driven development practices.
- Establish coding standards, tooling guidelines, and secure development practices while supporting regulatory and enterprise security compliance.
- Review code and critical designs, mentor developers, and contribute to technical discussions that improve engineering standards.
- Translate business requirements into technical plans and collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Document system designs using diagrams, flowcharts, and other appropriate artifacts.
- Help manage technical risks, delivery timelines, budget considerations, and platform improvement experiments.
- Provide occasional evening or weekend support overtime when required.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on large-scale projects from inception through delivery.
- Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, engineering colleagues, and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java 17/21 with Spring Boot or Spring Framework; Oracle PL/SQL; JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and CSS; or REST API design and integration.
- Deep knowledge of scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems using microservices, event-driven design, and layered architectures.
- Experience designing asynchronous publish-subscribe systems, Kafka message streaming, and event sourcing.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes containerization; and serverless computing.
- Understanding of relational SQL and NoSQL databases, caching layers, and data partitioning strategies.
- Mastery of SOLID and domain-driven design principles and established software design patterns.
- Sound judgment in software design and technology selection, with attention to performance, security, maintainability, and cost.
- Familiarity with Selenium, Playwright, JMeter, and Cucumber.
- Responsible, safe, and productive use of AI and agentic development tools.
- Additional experience with C, C#, or WPF is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- Salary range is CAD $110,000–$160,000.
