Base Salary
$185k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own cloud services connecting a growing robot fleet with customer experiences and internal operations.
- Build operational telemetry ingestion pipelines for high-frequency robot signals.
- Select technologies, document architectural decisions, and establish engineering patterns for a growing team.
- Own services end to end from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for owned services.
- Collaborate with science, engineering, and product teams to define requirements and operationalize workflows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 5 years of leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in cloud-based development and production environments such as AWS.
- Experience owning services through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Preferred experience includes backend systems for physical devices, device or fleet connectivity, MQTT, device identity and certificate management, offline-tolerant synchronization, or IoT platforms.
- Preferred experience includes real-time telemetry ingestion and streaming with Kafka, Kinesis, or time-series stores.
- Preferred experience includes over-the-air updates, staged fleet rollouts, connected-device security, secrets management, data privacy, infrastructure as code, operational tooling, and robotics or related hardware-connected domains.
