Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Build performant, scalable cloud-based solutions and customer-facing travel products using React and Scala.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams, including engineering standards, design patterns, operational excellence, and mentoring.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and optimize distributed-system performance.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 7+ years coding with multiple specified languages, database experience, cloud experience, open-source contribution, front-end framework experience, API development, testing, infrastructure as code, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, AI coding tools, mentoring, observability, and leadership of cross-functional engineering initiatives.

- Full-time annual base salary varies by location: $197,300–$225,100 in McLean, VA and $215,200–$245,600 in New York, NY; the role may also include performance-based incentive compensation.
