Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development of next-generation Azure SmartNIC and networking software capabilities.
- Drive architecture and technical execution for RDMA, virtualization, offload technologies, and high-performance networking.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, silicon, and cloud service teams on end-to-end platform innovations.
- Define and drive reliability and performance improvements using production telemetry and customer usage patterns.
- Influence networking platform strategy and future technical investments.
- Lead technical design, feature ownership, project execution, incident response, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through design and code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, including coding in C++, C, Java, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
- Experience leading complex engineering projects across multiple components or services and designing scalable, maintainable, highly available software architectures.
- Experience with TCP/IP, RDMA, Ethernet, DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, or network virtualization.
- Experience with Linux systems, kernel development, drivers, or performance-sensitive software.
- Experience building cloud-scale distributed systems and working with hardware-software integration, firmware interactions, or platform infrastructure.
- Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams, operating highly available production services, troubleshooting, debugging, and performing root-cause analysis.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree with 6+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Azure networking, virtualization, storage networking, or high-performance computing workloads.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is $119,800-$234,700 per year; specific ranges apply in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for a minimum of five days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
