Responsibilities
- Design bounded contexts, domain models, aggregate boundaries, and service architectures for card-network reference data.
- Develop and maintain Java full-stack backend services using Spring Boot, JPA, PostgreSQL Aurora, Liquibase, Drools, and scheduled batch jobs.
- Design integration workflows with Apache Camel and event-driven services with Kafka, including topic/schema design and producer/consumer reliability.
- Build independently deployable Next.js, React, and TypeScript micro-frontends and plan their integration with a shared micro-frontend shell.
- Own OAuth2/OIDC identity architecture, including Okta integration, JWT validation, session management, and revocation design.
- Govern AWS IAM, S3, and CloudFront architecture and lead deployments on the internal static cloud hosting platform.
- Design and execute enterprise performance-testing strategies, profile distributed systems, identify bottlenecks, and drive optimization.
- Build continuous testing and automation pipelines covering unit, contract, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Modernize and re-platform legacy services involving Java, Oracle, Tomcat, and WebSphere into cloud-native environments.
- Support PCI data-purging pipelines, data lifecycle controls, code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-team technical planning.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java.
- Strong relational database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL; PostgreSQL Aurora and Liquibase are a plus.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized services with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or an equivalent platform.
- Experience with Spring Boot/JPA, business rules engines such as Drools, and integration frameworks such as Apache Camel.
- Working knowledge of Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, including topic/schema design and producer/consumer reliability.
- Production experience applying domain-driven design and owning authorization and data-access control design.
- Experience governing cloud IAM, storage, and CDN architecture, including AWS IAM, S3, and CloudFront or equivalents.
- Experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, micro-frontends, OAuth2/OIDC, identity providers such as Okta, token validation, and session/revocation design.
- At least one enterprise-level performance-testing engagement, including strategy, tooling selection, execution, and presentation of findings.
- Experience with performance profiling, load testing, bottleneck resolution, test frameworks, test-driven development, and CI/CD automation.
- Digital payments, card processing, or financial-services experience and PCI compliance knowledge are strongly preferred.
- Strong collaboration, written communication, verbal communication, and ability to work in complex, ambiguous, matrixed environments.
- Experience with PGLogical or PostgreSQL logical replication, GitHub Copilot or Claude, bank or card-network integrations, or segregated development environments is desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, or qualifying experience may substitute with three years of specialized training or progressively responsible technology work for each missing year of college.
