Base Salary
$129k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, integrate, test, debug, document, and sustain software for a ground-based radar system supporting Space Domain Awareness missions.
- Develop software for mission execution, system control, data processing, and long-term system sustainment.
- Build Java services and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Deploy and orchestrate containerized applications using Docker or Podman and Kubernetes.
- Develop automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitLab.
- Work collaboratively with systems engineering teams in a Linux environment.
- Use RESTful APIs, JSON-based interfaces, relational databases, and SQL.
- Perform unit and integration testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, profiling, and performance tuning.
- Support distributed, real-time, mission-critical, and defense-related software systems.
Requirements
- Experience developing software in Java.
- Experience building services or microservices with Spring Boot.
- Experience with Docker or Podman containerization.
- Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration and deployment.
- Experience with GitLab and automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Experience developing in Linux environments.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON-based interfaces.
- Experience with unit and integration testing, including tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and basic SQL.
- Experience using Java and Linux debugging tools and techniques.
- An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance that is current and within scope at the time of application.
- Eight years of experience with a Bachelor of Science, six years with a Master of Science, three years with a PhD, or four additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed systems, microservice architectures, Kafka or RabbitMQ, API gateways, service discovery, Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or EFK, Java profiling, secure coding, C/C++ integration, real-time or mission-critical systems, and DevSecOps security scanning experience.
