Base Salary
$157k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, secure, and operate mission software and data platforms using agentic and AI-assisted workflows.
- Stand up and operate agentic development toolchains, including code, testing, review, copilot, and automation capabilities integrated into software development practices.
- Prototype agentic mission capabilities and mature them into production-grade systems with security, reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Define and enforce guardrails covering approved tools and models, data handling, secrets, provenance, auditability, prompting, and policy compliance.
- Establish evaluation and quality gates for AI-generated artifacts, including automated tests, static and security analysis, coding standards, CI checks, and human review.
- Architect and operate distributed AWS and multi-cloud systems, APIs, backend services, data flows, pipelines, and orchestration.
- Automate DevSecOps and release processes with supply-chain security, dependency and container scanning, infrastructure scanning, SAST/DAST, and policy controls.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, observability integrations, and compliance-ready evidence for AI-assisted engineering.
- Mentor teams, advise sponsors and customers on agentic adoption, develop best practices and playbooks, and drive process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with at least 6 years, or a PhD with at least 3 years, or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and Python proficiency, including secure coding, code review, automated testing, and maintainable design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with agentic or AI-assisted development tools and integrating them into the software development life cycle.
- Experience designing guardrails for AI-enabled engineering, including tool and model selection, prompt and context hygiene, secrets handling, provenance, auditability, and policy constraints.
- Experience establishing quality and evaluation practices for AI-generated outputs, including automated checks, unit and integration tests, static and security analysis, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Leadership and enablement experience involving mentoring, engineering standards, stakeholder or customer advising, and change management.
- Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced technical degree, production experience with LLM and agent systems, AI security and red-teaming expertise, mature LLM evaluation practices, platform engineering and DevSecOps expertise, Kubernetes and multi-cloud operations, MLOps and model serving, and experience with regulated or classified mission systems.
