Base Salary
$145k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship development tools and prototype code for R&D engineers working on new Formlabs products.
- Design, build, test, and ship software for new printer features deployed to Formlabs devices in the field.
- Develop maintainable, reusable embedded code with a strong focus on testing and CI.
- Apply embedded software architecture patterns for filtering, control loops, and remote procedure calls.
- Debug complex interactions between hardware and software.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to build customer-focused features.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience writing software for hardware products in consumer, medical, defense, or industrial environments.
- Proficiency with modern embedded software languages, ideally C, C++, and/or Python.
- Ability to implement embedded architecture patterns such as filtering, control loops, and remote procedure calls.
- Ability to architect reusable code for other software engineers.
- Comfort debugging complex hardware and software interactions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-software stakeholders.
