Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise-grade cloud data platform solutions.
- Build and optimise high-volume batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using Snowflake and AWS.
- Drive automation, reliability, and operational excellence across the platform.
- Improve engineering standards and create reusable platform capabilities and frameworks.
- Support secure data integration and API-based services.
- Apply data governance, secure engineering, DevSecOps, encryption, and observability practices.
- Provide production support, root cause analysis, data validation, ETL testing, and SIT/UAT support.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
- Champion continuous improvement, platform ownership, engineering automation, and capability uplift.
Requirements
- Extensive experience building enterprise data and platform solutions.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, ETL/ELT development, data integration, and data modelling.
- Advanced software engineering skills with Python, Java, and SQL.
- Experience with cloud-native engineering practices and platform design in AWS environments.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake at large scale, including performance tuning and database optimisation.
- Experience with automation, DevSecOps, data governance, and secure data engineering practices.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and REST APIs.
- Experience with data validation, ETL testing, SIT/UAT, automation, production support, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Splunk.
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering using GitHub Copilot.
