Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and guide teams of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, and long-term technology direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions and shared services.
- Mentor engineers and support professional development within technical teams.
- Lead architectural design reviews and establish coding standards, design patterns, observability practices, and reliability practices at scale.
- Drive cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 9+ years coding in multiple listed languages, open-source framework contributions, front-end framework experience, API development, database systems, cloud technologies, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, mentoring, observability, architectural reviews, coding standards, reliability practices, AI coding tools, technology strategy, and large-scale technical initiatives.

- Full-time annual base salary varies by location: $229,900-$262,400 in McLean, VA and $250,800-$286,200 in New York, NY.
