Responsibilities
- Implement the latest machine learning models and optimise their performance and accuracy across thousands of accelerators.
- Test and evaluate internal software releases, provide feedback to software engineering teams, fix code, and conduct code reviews.
- Benchmark models and ML techniques to identify performance bottlenecks and improve model efficiency.
- Design, implement, and evaluate experiments involving novel AI methods.
- Collaborate with Research, Software, and Product teams to define, build, and test next-generation AI hardware.
- Monitor developments in the AI community and keep current with emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Maths, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Strong Python or C++ software development skills.
- Expertise in deep learning across model training, optimisation, and evaluation.
- Experience with distributed training or inference of ML models across 64 or more accelerators.
- Ability to design, execute, and report on ML experiments.
- Deep understanding of performance bottlenecks and how to overcome them.
- Desirable experience with MLOps for Kubernetes-based clusters, production systems using large language models, or efficient computing with low-precision arithmetic.
- Desirable experience writing C++, Triton, or CUDA kernels for ML model performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with HPC systems and networking technologies including Infiniband, NVLink, or RoCE.
- Open-source contributions or relevant research publications are desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and interest in presenting, publishing, or delivering talks in the AI community are desirable.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
