Base Salary

$70k - $94k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design software that implements formal requirements and oversee or review proposed designs.
  • Implement, debug, root-cause, and correct software defects.
  • Design and maintain cloud-based websites and AI-enabled product capabilities.
  • Integrate custom datasets for AI analysis and reporting, build Large Language Model applications, and train custom models.
  • Modernize legacy architectures by migrating them to contemporary cloud and web solutions.
  • Create and maintain formal software design documentation, including cybersecurity components.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Support customer releases and respond to customer comments with product management.
  • Assist other groups in understanding product behavior.
  • Address application-level vulnerabilities through secure coding and dependency management.
  • Mentor others, present ideas to business leaders, and suggest process improvements.
  • Perform hands-on testing, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test hardware and fixtures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience with cloud computing platforms and systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience integrating custom datasets with AI, building applications with Large Language Models, and training custom models.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, C#, and Python across platforms including Windows IoT and Linux.
  • Experience migrating legacy architectures to modern cloud and web solutions.
  • Hands-on exposure to Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases including MS-SQL, MySQL, and Postgres, plus Entity Framework.
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control, including GitLab and GitHub.
  • Experience working in and managing the Agile development model, such as serving as a scrum master.
  • Experience addressing application-level vulnerabilities, secure coding, and dependency management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, collaborate effectively, mentor others, prioritize multiple workstreams, and meet deadlines.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required, along with availability for international travel, including travel to the United States.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move test hardware and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs and work in an electronics lab environment.
