Responsibilities
- Design, configure, administer, and optimize the Splunk observability platform for enterprise-scale log and event data.
- Manage data ingestion, routing, retention, lifecycle policies, performance tuning, scalability, and cost optimization across log pipelines.
- Integrate observability capabilities with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, deployment tools, CI/CD pipelines, ITSM systems, and enterprise tools.
- Install, upgrade, and manage Splunk apps and components, including user roles and access controls.
- Use Python and Bash scripting to automate platform configuration and operational processes.
- Support integrations with Puppet, Ansible, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, and enterprise APIs.
- Collaborate on projects using SAFe methodology and tools including Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field.
- 7–10 years of deep hands-on experience with Splunk administration, configuration, data ingestion, forwarders, inputs, routing, indexing, access controls, and Splunk app management.
- Strong experience designing and optimizing observability data pipelines, including retention, lifecycle management, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
- Experience integrating Splunk with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tools, ITSM systems, automation tools, and APIs.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python or Bash.
- Experience with SAFe methodology and platforms such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- Preferred experience administering APM and session replay platforms such as New Relic, Dynatrace, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and FullStory.
- Preferred understanding of distributed tracing, APM instrumentation, metrics and event integration, multi-platform observability, session replay, site analytics, and generative or agentic AI frameworks.
