Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AI-powered applications and services using Python, FastAPI or Flask, and Google Vertex AI.
- Develop and maintain retrieval-augmented semantic search capabilities for enterprise documents and unstructured data.
- Build front-end functionality using React and collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps, QA, and product partners.
- Work with LLMs, including fine-tuning Gemini models.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices.
- Ensure solutions meet security, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, promote coding standards, mentor junior team members, and document technical and operational procedures.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of large applications, including applications using Oracle databases.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and automated tests.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience in an AI Engineer role applying AI techniques to real-world problems.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy, with experience using FastAPI or Flask.
- Hands-on experience with Google Vertex AI and demonstrated experience working with and fine-tuning LLMs, particularly Gemini.
- Strong experience with React front-end development.
- Knowledge of Linux, containers, cloud solutions, performance optimization, and Oracle databases.
- Experience with JUnit, Mojito, Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization, OAuth 2, Spring Security, and API management.
- Experience with OpenShift, GCP GKE, Cloud Run Functions, VPC networking, Gradle, Maven, and GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of Swagger and JSON.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a relevant technology or science field, plus technology certifications from an industry-leading cloud provider are desirable.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of Agile practices.
