Base Salary

$185k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation, and operation of core conversational discovery platform components.
  • Design hybrid systems combining LLM-based semantic understanding with personalization and ranking signals.
  • Prototype, evaluate, and productionize LLM-powered conversation and recommendation features.
  • Optimize LLM inference for latency, cost, and quality at massive scale.
  • Build evaluation and quality-gating mechanisms for relevance, personalization, diversity, and safety.
  • Write significant production code, conduct code reviews, and improve engineering standards.
  • Participate in on-call, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for Tier-1 AI systems.
  • Integrate with inference infrastructure, feature storage, experimentation platforms, and other partner systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
  • Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Preferred: 5+ years across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
