Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mission users and stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions across product, data, and integration systems.
- Own architecture and implementation of new capabilities, integrations, AI-enabled workflows, and production improvements.
- Design for reliability, observability, security, and constrained operating environments.
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain software, including containerized applications and API integrations.
- Diagnose production issues with users and convert recurring problems into durable engineering solutions.
- Take capabilities from prototype through production and measure their effect on mission outcomes.
- Conduct user and junior-engineer training and mentoring to support adoption and understanding.
- Partner with engineers and stakeholders to improve development workflows, scalability, and engineering practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and present documentation, demonstrations, and performance reports to government and industry stakeholders.
- Operate autonomously on ambiguous, high-priority problems and travel 30% or more to CONUS mission sites for localized technical support.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- Strong full-stack engineering experience with modern TypeScript-based applications is required.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks is required; React experience is a plus.
- Experience designing and operating production backend services and APIs, such as Node.js or equivalent, is required.
- Experience designing integrations across APIs, external data sources, and enterprise systems is required.
- Experience shipping containerized software through modern CI/CD pipelines is required.
- Experience deploying secure production systems in cloud environments is required; AWS GovCloud or DoD experience is preferred.
- Expertise in the software development lifecycle and security principles is required.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, prioritization, and autonomous problem-solving skills are required.
- Experience building AI-enabled production systems, such as tool-using agents, retrieval workflows, model evaluation, or human-in-the-loop systems, is desired.
- Federal government sales engineering experience, knowledge of DoD cybersecurity and vulnerability management, AWS GovCloud experience, Kubernetes familiarity, Unix/Linux experience, and experience with CI/CD are desired.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical teams is desired.
- Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire is desired.
- Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
