Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mission users and stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions across product, data, and integration systems.
- Own architecture and implementation of new capabilities, integrations, production improvements, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Design for reliability, observability, security, and constrained operating environments.
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain software integrated with existing processes, APIs, external data sources, and enterprise systems.
- Diagnose production issues with users and convert recurring problems into durable engineering solutions.
- Validate solutions in operational settings, take capabilities from prototype to production, and measure mission impact.
- Train and mentor users and junior engineers and help establish efficient, scalable development practices.
- Evaluate technologies, make autonomous technical tradeoffs, and present documentation, demonstrations, and reports to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Provide localized technical support at mission sites through 30%+ CONUS travel.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; only U.S. Citizens are eligible.
- Strong full-stack engineering experience with modern TypeScript-based applications and modern frontend frameworks; React is a plus.
- Experience designing and operating production backend services and APIs, such as Node.js or equivalent.
- Experience designing integrations across APIs, external data sources, and enterprise systems.
- Experience shipping containerized software through modern CI/CD pipelines and deploying secure production systems in cloud environments.
- Expertise in the software development lifecycle and security principles, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in dynamic environments, manage multiple priorities, and travel to client sites.
- Experience building AI-enabled production systems such as tool-using agents, retrieval workflows, model evaluation, or human-in-the-loop systems is desired.
- Experience with federal government sales engineering, DoD cybersecurity and vulnerability management, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux, AWS GovCloud, modern agent/tool integration patterns including MCP, and automated software delivery is desired.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical teams is desired; Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it within six months is a plus.
