Responsibilities

  • Develop kernel- and user-mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug utilities, test utilities, and automated unit and system tests for Ethernovia networking devices.
  • Architect, design, implement, test, and integrate device drivers into Ethernovia’s SDK.
  • Integrate drivers with Linux and AUTOSAR communication stacks so applications, middleware, and operating systems can use the hardware’s features.
  • Develop ground-up drivers for safety-critical automotive applications while following functional-safety and development best practices.
  • Collaborate on high-performance networking and communication software for vehicles, robots, and other intelligent machines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience for the mid-level position or seven years for the senior-level position.
  • Proficiency in C/C++; Python experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing software device drivers, preferably for Ethernet or other communication devices.
  • Deep understanding of operating systems, kernels, platform/device drivers, preferably Linux, QNX, or a real-time operating system.
  • Experience integrating and testing operating-system device-driver interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, preferably communication devices.
  • Preferred experience with simulation and emulation platforms; GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites; embedded programming; I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, and other hardware buses.
  • Preferred experience building automotive or safety-critical systems using MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 qualification methods or processes.
  • Preferred knowledge of Ethernet MAC, PHY, switching, TCP/IP, security, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, SR-IOV, and video-processing standards and protocols.
  • Preferred experience with Perforce, Git, Swarm, Yocto, AUTOSAR Communication Stack, virtualization, virtualized device drivers, and high-performance networking test tools.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle fundamentals, including architecture, implementation, and testing.
  • Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, independence, and attention to detail.
