Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware that configures, controls, and monitors Ethernovia networking devices.
- Enable firmware interaction with host systems through device drivers and expose device hardware features.
- Own firmware architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration into Ethernovia’s SDK.
- Develop firmware for safety-critical automotive applications while following functional-safety and best-development practices.
- Collaborate across software and hardware communication and acceleration systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software, or a related field.
- Three years of experience for the mid-level position or seven years for the senior-level position.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, implementation, testing, and the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in C and C++; Python experience is a plus.
- Experience developing embedded firmware, preferably for Ethernet or other communication devices.
- Experience integrating and testing firmware and low-level code.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors.
- Ability to write efficient code optimized for footprint and performance.
- Experience with simulation and emulation platforms, compilers, debugging suites, embedded programming, and hardware buses is preferred.
- Experience building automotive or other safety-critical systems using MISRA, ASPICE, or ISO 26262 is preferred.
- Knowledge of communication protocols and technologies including Ethernet MAC, PHY, switching, TCP/IP, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV is preferred.
- Experience with Perforce, Git, Swarm, Jenkins, ARM processors, and bootloaders such as U-Boot is preferred.
