Responsibilities
- Research, design, and evaluate quantum-resistant cryptographic solutions, PQC algorithms, and quantum-safe security standards.
- Assess enterprise systems, applications, protocols, and cryptographic implementations for vulnerabilities related to quantum computing threats.
- Design and implement cryptographic modernization, migration, and crypto-agility strategies.
- Develop, prototype, test, optimize, and integrate cryptographic algorithms, libraries, APIs, and security components.
- Evaluate and implement NIST-standardized post-quantum algorithms for key establishment and digital signatures.
- Perform cryptographic testing, security analysis, benchmarking, and interoperability testing.
- Support integration of quantum-safe cryptography with PKI, identity management, TLS, VPNs, cloud platforms, network security systems, applications, and data-protection technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, software engineers, researchers, and system owners to translate quantum-security requirements into technical solutions.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture guidance, migration roadmaps, cryptographic inventories, risk assessments, and modernization recommendations.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of IT experience, including at least five years of quantum computing and cryptography experience at a large corporation or government agency of comparable scope.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.
- Certification in one or more of IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III.
- Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms including Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms, and quantum information theory.
- Expertise with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, and classical and quantum simulation tools.
- Expertise in cryptographic protocols, PKI, post-quantum cryptography, quantum-resistant algorithms, and standards including NIST and ISO/IEC 19790.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and Java for implementing and testing cryptographic algorithms.
- Experience advising on PQC migration plans, assessing cryptographic inventories, identifying migration priorities, and providing policy guidance aligned with NIST PQC standards.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
- Experience with project management or project-oriented environments and configuration management in large organizations.
- A related master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
