Base Salary
$75k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver clean, efficient code according to sprint commitments and coding standards.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and support major features, services, or substantial portions of team software.
- Make design trade-offs involving maintainability, performance, dependencies, delivery speed, and operational risk.
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex defects and improve system quality.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, planning, and operational excellence reviews.
- Improve development, testing, deployment, documentation, and support mechanisms.
- Use approved AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while validating their output.
- Mentor newer engineers and help onboard teammates.
- Comply with company policies, standards, and security practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience designing and building stable, maintainable, and performant software or services.
- Strong coding ability in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with the software delivery lifecycle.
- Experience with code reviews, design trade-offs, debugging, testing, and production support.
- Knowledge of Java, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, object-oriented programming, and Oracle relational databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional partners.
- Preferred experience with APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, observability tooling, relational or NoSQL databases, distributed systems, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Preferred experience with Linux, Eclipse IDE, Git, Jira, XSL, AWS, AWS Lambda, UI development, mobile development, Bootstrap, React Native, billing and payroll, data import/export, SSO, or large-scale EDI.
- Experience in benefits administration, HR technology, regulated SaaS, or complex B2B systems is preferred.
