Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and iterate on robust end-to-end web products.
- Own the full development lifecycle from brainstorming through deployment, with attention to scalability and reliability.
- Develop backend services using typed Python and frontend interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Evolve the PostgreSQL database layer and AWS infrastructure using Pulumi.
- Innovate on AI systems using custom chunking algorithms, vector databases, and private LLMs to deliver accurate, auditable assessments.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing while helping shape the engineering culture.
Requirements
- Strong foundational software engineering skills, including efficient development practices, Git proficiency, debugging, and high-quality code reviews.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, early-stage startup environment.
- Immediate productivity in at least one area of the stack: React frontends, Python backends, AI systems, or AWS infrastructure.
- Formal education and prior domain knowledge are not strictly required.
- A can-do attitude and commitment to constructive collaboration, kindness, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
