Base Salary
$89k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, improve, and support software applications and services as part of an Agile scrum team.
- Write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and create unit tests with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Translate customer and business needs into technical solutions while balancing quality, resilience, usability, security, and risk.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, quality engineers, architects, security partners, and business stakeholders.
- Explore automation, emerging technologies, AI-powered developer tools, machine learning concepts, and intelligent automation.
- Participate in structured onboarding, developer learning, mentorship, networking, community, and leadership-development activities.
Requirements
- Earn a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another technical field before the full-time start date.
- Graduate between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Have experience developing products or projects through academic, personal, internship, research, open-source, hackathon, or professional work.
- Have exposure to one or more of backend, frontend, cloud, mobile, AI and machine learning, data engineering, API, or full-stack development.
- Have familiarity with languages, frameworks, and tools such as Java, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Python, C#, Go, Kotlin, Node.js, SQL, and Spring.
- Have exposure to cloud-native development, microservices, containerization, automated testing, accessibility, DevOps, CI/CD, or secure software development concepts.
- Preferred experience includes LLM integrations, prompt engineering, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, AI agents, agentic workflows, model inference endpoints, evaluation workflows, or cloud-based AI services.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of responsible AI practices, version control, testing, code reviews, collaborative development, and modern software engineering practices.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
