Responsibilities
- Build complex application configurations that meet user and business requirements and improve application support processes.
- Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and support complex custom applications, integrations, workflows, reporting solutions, and data products.
- Perform advanced programming, configuration, testing, and deployment for application fixes and version releases.
- Provide complex technical application support, investigate defects and performance issues, and resolve production incidents across application, integration, and data layers.
- Communicate with users and collaborate with developers, product managers, business partners, and multifunctional teams.
- Lead prioritization of incident tickets and user requests.
- Manage software vendor relationships and negotiate complex contracts.
- Apply automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and disciplined release practices to deliver iterative changes.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools responsibly for coding, testing, documentation, and review while maintaining human accountability and secure handling of data and code.
Requirements
- Minimum four years of relevant work experience; the role typically reflects five or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, testing, documenting, deploying, and supporting complex custom applications, integrations, business workflows, reporting solutions, and data products.
- Experience with SAP HANA, SQL, and SAP HANA Cloud data modeling.
- Ability to write clean, modular, maintainable code using appropriate patterns for reliability, security, and supportability.
- Experience investigating and resolving defects, performance issues, and production incidents across application, integration, and data layers.
- Experience participating in code reviews and incorporating feedback to improve reliability and shared code quality.
- Experience with ERP, TRM, commodity trading, risk, logistics, supply chain, or similar business domains is preferred.
- Experience supporting global or multi-region business operations is preferred.
- Experience applying AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools responsibly with established quality controls is preferred.
