Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality mobile application features for millions of Ring customers.
- Build extensible, well-architected mobile components for customer-facing experiences.
- Use AI-powered development practices for design, code generation, testing, code review, and debugging.
- Collaborate with cloud services, firmware, design, product, and other cross-functional teams.
- Drive mobile engineering excellence through architecture, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices.
- Contribute to technical decisions affecting mobile platform architecture and future product capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues involving mobile performance, reliability, and customer experience.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience building mobile applications.
- At least 3 years of native iOS development with Swift or Objective-C, native Android development with Kotlin or Java, or production React Native or comparable cross-platform development with knowledge of underlying native platforms.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools for coding, test generation, code review, and debugging in production.
- Solid understanding of mobile app lifecycle, memory and performance, networking, persistence, and testing.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, experience across both iOS and Android or with React Native native modules, reliability- or latency-sensitive feature development, REST APIs, real-time or event-driven services, push-based architectures, and mobile performance profiling and optimization.
