  • Design and implement behavioral motion-planning logic for autonomous-vehicle actions such as lane changes, merges, yields, and agent interactions.
  • Develop and optimize motion-planning algorithms integrating geometric path reasoning and velocity reasoning into cohesive trajectories.
  • Architect geometry and velocity systems that generate feasible, compliant, comfortable, and safe paths and velocity profiles.
  • Model complex driving scenarios and agent interactions for the behavioral planner’s world model.
  • Design trajectory-ranking costs that balance ETA, comfort, and safety.
  • Analyze, test, debug, and investigate root causes of system performance issues across scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Prediction, Perception, and Control teams to connect environmental understanding with vehicle motion.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or automotive software development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ for complex, real-time algorithms.
  • Understanding of robotics fundamentals, decision-making, motion planning, control theory, trajectory ranking, search, and optimization algorithms.
