Responsibilities
- Own architecture contracts between UI, backend services, shared libraries, and cloud or compute execution layers.
- Improve execution performance through model start-up latency reduction, instance pools, serverless patterns, and warm executors.
- Govern responsible AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and data sensitivity.
- Set standards for testing, CI/CD, secure-by-default practices, observability, and backward-compatible versioning.
- Coordinate contract-first changes across teams, services, shared libraries, APIs, and schemas.
- Mentor engineers, conduct high-signal code reviews, and act as the escalation point for complex production incidents.
- Translate user and business requirements into pragmatic technical roadmaps.
- Design and review multi-service changes for correctness, performance, and maintainability.
- Maintain documented architecture and contract maps for the platform.
Requirements
- Significant experience building and operating production distributed systems as a technical lead.
- Deep expertise in Python, FastAPI/REST, asynchronous patterns, and SQLAlchemy.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including secure handling of inputs and outputs and data sensitivity considerations.
- Strong AWS experience with Step Functions, Lambda, ECS, EKS, and managed data services.
- Experience designing and evolving service-to-service contracts without breaking consumers.
- Understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, secrets management, IAM, least privilege, and secure-by-default engineering.
- Ability to lead across teams and communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Databricks, Spark, ML or forecasting execution at scale, and cold-start or warm-compute optimization.
- Preferred familiarity with TypeScript, React micro-frontends, and Module Federation.
- Preferred ownership of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code.
- Preferred experience with model governance and SDLC approval, audit, and environment-promotion workflows in regulated settings.
- Preferred background in financial services or other compliance-heavy environments.
