Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of backend systems using Python or Java.
- Build distributed indexing and search infrastructure for source code intelligence.
- Develop multi-language semantic and AST analysis capabilities.
- Create interfaces for AI agents to query and validate code.
- Apply AI techniques to code search, vulnerability discovery, and SDLC automation.
- Set technical direction for a small team and mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and integrate emerging technologies, including Claude AI capabilities.
- Improve engineering processes, development workflows, productivity, and software quality.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python or Java for backend development.
- Strong understanding of AI concepts and practical application.
- Experience with distributed systems architecture and data models or data structures.
- Experience integrating Claude AI or similar advanced AI tools.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles in software environments.
- Ability to streamline engineering processes, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly.
- Ability to mentor and support team members and demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred qualifications include software engineering team leadership, cloud platforms, microservices, backend frameworks and tools, real-time data processing and streaming, security engineering, distributed systems, program analysis, and DevOps automation.
