Responsibilities
- Design and develop reusable, modular AI systems, interfaces, APIs, libraries, and platform capabilities optimized for scalability, resilience, security, and operability.
- Build and operate production services and secure AI solutions in collaboration with Applied AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, quality standards, operational readiness, and adoption of effective engineering patterns.
- Write, review, debug, and improve production code while evaluating AI solution approaches and influencing technology decisions.
- Drive secure adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation of AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Contribute to firmwide AI-enabled software development standards, frameworks, tools, and engineering thought leadership.
- Mentor engineers and foster an inclusive, respectful team culture.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on software and systems development experience delivering production services in secure, regulated enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical direction, design reviews, quality standards, and operational readiness across a team or program.
- Significant experience with at least one modern programming language, including Java or Python.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for software engineering tasks.
- Strong understanding of LLM-backed AI architectures, API design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and prompt engineering.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native services on AWS, including Bedrock.
- Experience with containerization using Docker and ECS/EKS and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience driving enterprise adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, review, testing, and troubleshooting, with practices for validating AI outputs.
- Financial Services industry experience is preferred.
