Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, resilient systems using Python and apply Site Reliability Engineering concepts to improve reliability and performance.
- Build secure, maintainable, testable, high-quality production code and maintain system algorithms.
- Create or contribute to architecture and design artifacts while ensuring design constraints are met.
- Gather, analyze, and visualize software and system improvement data and identify patterns that inform coding and architecture improvements.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, automated recovery, system health checks, and performance metrics.
- Define and measure Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives to track system health.
- Conduct chaos engineering experiments and JMeter performance testing to assess resiliency, scalability, and stability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams, participate in post-incident reviews, and drive root cause analysis for system failures.
- Contribute to engineering communities of practice and help establish standards that improve system reliability and security.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and Python coding.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, AWS, troubleshooting, resiliency, automation, security, and application reliability.
- Experience with AI, MongoDB, reliability engineering, monitoring, alerting, automated recovery, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience with chaos engineering and proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Commitment to writing maintainable, testable, and high-quality code.
- Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies and exposure to cloud technologies.
