Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes platform capabilities including cluster services, controllers, operators, admission policies, platform APIs, and developer tooling.
- Develop backend services and automation in Go and Python to improve platform reliability, usability, and self-service.
- Create delivery workflows that standardize engineering practices and reduce operational toil.
- Improve monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, runbooks, on-call practices, and operational readiness.
- Implement secure-by-default patterns for identity, policy, network controls, and secrets management in partnership with security and risk stakeholders.
- Author design documents, participate in architecture reviews, and help define engineering standards and technical direction.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, mob programming, and constructive feedback.
- Promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices with validation for correctness, performance, security, and responsible data handling.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
- Strong practical Kubernetes experience covering workload scheduling, services and networking, storage, role-based access control, upgrades, cluster operations, and troubleshooting.
- Solid cloud development experience designing distributed systems and deploying and operating reliable, scalable services.
- Proficiency in Go and Python for platform services and automation tooling.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, networking, Linux, containers, and secure coding.
- Ability to work collaboratively, handle ambiguous requirements, propose solutions, communicate clearly, and deliver iteratively.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating, validating, and refining their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes operators, controllers, admission webhooks, service meshes, ingress and gateway patterns, or multi-cluster tooling.
- Preferred familiarity with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, Flux, continuous integration systems, observability stacks, SRE practices, incident response, post-incident reviews, and regulated environments.
