Responsibilities
- Design and develop modular, maintainable AI systems and interfaces aligned with infrastructure platform standards.
- Build reusable APIs, libraries, reference architectures, and production services that accelerate delivery across products and platforms.
- Partner with Applied AI/ML, Data Science, and Cybersecurity engineers to develop secure AI solutions.
- Write, review, debug, and improve secure, high-quality production code.
- Evaluate AI solution approaches and improve design quality, code quality, scalability, resiliency, and operational outcomes.
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, quality standards, and operational readiness across teams or programs.
- Drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices and validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Advocate firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices for AI-enabled software development.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering community standards and thought leadership.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on software or systems development experience delivering production services in secure, regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions and influencing technical direction across a team or program.
- Significant experience with at least one modern programming language, including Java or Python.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Understanding of building AI solutions using LLM-backed architectures.
- Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native services on AWS, including Bedrock.
- Experience with Docker, ECS/EKS, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong prompt engineering skills, including system prompts, few-shot prompting, tool/function calling, and structured outputs such as JSON schemas.
- Experience driving secure adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Preferred: financial services industry experience.
