Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, high-quality software solutions and production code.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are maintained throughout development.
- Develop, debug, test, and maintain Java applications, UI components, RESTful APIs, and SOAP services.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets, identify system and coding patterns, and use insights to improve software architecture and coding practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support secure, stable operational systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation of AI-generated code and other outputs.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools, automation, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and experience with database query languages.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience writing secure, readable, well-tested code with Java, Angular or similar UI frameworks, RESTful APIs, and SOAP.
- Experience developing RESTful web services using Spring Boot, Hibernate, or a similar framework.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
- Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Ability to guide peers in safe and effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Preferred experience with cloud-native architectures and infrastructure.
- Preferred experience deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS.
- Preferred experience with ReactJS, Angular, or Vue.js and relational databases, especially Oracle and SQL.
- Preferred experience working on an agile, user-centric product team.
