Responsibilities
- Identify and build desk-facing applied AI capabilities for Sales & Trading.
- Translate ambiguous commercial and desk questions into tractable quantitative and applied AI problems.
- Develop predictive analytics for electronic trading and automated price setting using large-scale data.
- Design and implement computation at scale for heavy data workloads and production environments.
- Deliver applied AI solutions end to end, including evaluation, production readiness, adoption, and post-launch improvement.
- Use feedback from RBC Sales & Trading users to improve reliability and practical value.
- Communicate and collaborate with RBC partners and employees across Canada and worldwide.
Requirements
- A post-secondary degree in Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 2 to 5 years of experience building Deep Learning or Machine Learning models in production environments.
- A demonstrated record of shipping non-trivial systems used by real users, with initiative and end-to-end ownership.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with applied AI and Generative AI frameworks and architectures.
- Experience with quantitative analysis and computation at scale for heavy data work.
- A strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and distributed computing.
- Understanding of Sales & Trading workflows within Capital Markets.
- Interest in applying and developing new technologies to achieve business outcomes.
- Knowledge of risk concepts, market microstructure, and quantitative finance for pricing, trading, and risk management is preferred.
- Exposure to electronic trading, automated pricing, or predictive analytics is preferred.
- Experience with retrieval, context design, and information-retrieval methods is preferred.
- Experience delivering in a regulated or security-conscious environment is preferred.
