Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven products and features from zero-to-one prototypes through production systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to understand user needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experiment with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, and emerging AI models and techniques using data and user feedback.
- Build and scale full-stack applications and intelligent agents that automate complex healthcare workflows.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and contribute to Oscar’s AI strategy and technical vision.
- Lead technical teams and cross-pod or cross-company deliverables while mentoring and training junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years leading cross-pod or cross-company deliverables, technical contributions, technical teams, and the application of computer science concepts within teams.
- At least 5 years setting and enforcing standards for stable, correct, and maintainable code.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience solving complex, ambiguous problems.
- Experience designing and analyzing experiments or evaluations.
- Experience or interest in prototyping full-stack applications.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare, legal or financial process automation, compliance and privacy requirements, NLP, neural networks, transformers, modern AI frameworks, containerization, deployment tools, or full-stack development.
- A degree in math, statistics, data science, or engineering is listed as a bonus qualification.
- Candidates should demonstrate product thinking, rapid prototyping, hands-on coding, and an experimental mindset.
