Responsibilities
- Design and develop software development kits for high-performance network switch ASICs.
- Build firmware and software abstractions for networking ASICs, SoCs, and embedded platforms.
- Implement and support L2 switching and forwarding capabilities including LAG, VLAN, xSTP, LLDP, and data-center fabric switching.
- Implement L3 unicast and multicast routing protocols including RIP, OSPF, IGMP, BGP, and ISIS.
- Develop functionality involving ACLs, QoS, policers, and TCAM.
- Collaborate across Silicon, System, and NOS teams to ensure switch ASICs are performant and production ready.
- Use profiling tools and simulation environments to evaluate network latency and system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or ECE, or a master’s degree in Computer Science or ECE.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, including hands-on experience with networking ASICs, SoCs, and embedded platforms.
- Expertise in L2 and L3 Ethernet switching and routing protocols.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills, with Python experience, in Linux-based environments.
- Experience developing embedded system software for switches or routers.
- Experience developing SDKs for Ethernet switch silicon.
- Strong command of compiler toolchains and tools for profiling network latency and system performance.
- Experience with modern network operating systems such as SONiC.
- Familiarity with simulation environments, BMv2, and proprietary RTL-based ASIC simulations.
