Firmware Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity firmware simulation environments, including QEMU-based virtual platforms, to reduce reliance on physical hardware and accelerate development.
- Create hardware models for controller logic, PCIe and NVMe interfaces, and NAND media behavior within DirectFlash SSD Modules.
- Design instrumentation tools for performance profiling and failure analysis in simulated environments.
- Automate simulation and virtual-platform integration into firmware release and validation processes.
- Partner with ASIC vendors to validate firmware behavior against RTL and digital logic designs before physical silicon is available.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and scaling high-fidelity simulation software for complex embedded, firmware, or hardware-software systems.
- Expert proficiency in C/C++ and Python for firmware and modeling development.
- Extensive experience with simulation or emulation tools and methodologies such as QEMU, SystemC, TLM, or instruction-set simulators.
- Deep understanding of firmware-hardware interaction and the ability to translate schematics and data sheets into abstract software models.
- Strong knowledge of PCIe and NVMe storage protocols.
- Experience with embedded software development, SoC bring-up, and RTOS.
- Experience with SoC or hardware bring-up.
- Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in an open-office team environment.
