Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale backend and full-stack features using Java and Spring Boot.
- Lead technical direction for modules or subsystems while remaining actively involved in implementation.
- Modernize legacy or monolithic Java applications into modern, cloud-ready architectures.
- Design modular services, microservices-based systems, APIs, backend services, data models, and integration workflows.
- Support Angular and React frontend teams by providing robust backend APIs.
- Implement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture.
- Perform technical trade-off analysis and contribute to application and solution architecture discussions.
- Conduct performance profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning to resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking frameworks, static analysis, and strong test coverage.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities, including planning, reviews, retrospectives, deployment, and maintenance.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- MCA, bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Working knowledge of Hibernate, JPA, transaction management, microservices, service communication, and integration patterns.
- Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations; Azure Service Bus or similar experience is useful.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud-native development, Azure DevOps, Docker, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
- Experience with product development environments and Product Development Lifecycle practices.
- Understanding of Lean Agile/Scrum methodologies and related development practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, learning, and continuous-improvement abilities.
- Exposure to event-driven systems, shipping/logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is preferred.
