Senior Mobile Product Engineer, Intelligent Platforms (all genders)
HelloFreshResponsibilities
- Own the integration and evolution of tracking and experimentation SDKs across Android native and React Native layers.
- Solve mobile telemetry challenges including lifecycle events, background synchronization, offline event buffering, and custom native bridges.
- Embed AI-driven workflows into platform tooling to improve automation and data quality.
- Implement automated testing, error handling, release practices, and production monitoring for reliable systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to evolve the platform.
- Own mobile customer quality metrics such as retention, crash-free sessions, and conversion.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team-wide engineering standards and architecture decisions.
- Operate and continuously improve the systems built in production.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of extensive mobile engineering experience, ideally with strong Android and Kotlin expertise.
- Hands-on daily experience with AI tooling or agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Ability to work flexibly across mobile and web codebases and ramp up on unfamiliar platforms.
- Experience building and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Deep knowledge of mobile release cycles, test automation, on-device performance, and platform UX conventions.
- Demonstrated ownership in ambiguous, cross-functional environments involving engineering, product, and data teams.
- Strong engineering judgment in code quality, system stability, and resilient infrastructure design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Product sense, customer and data orientation, and a bias toward shipping and completing work.
- Preferred: familiarity with client-side signal flows, GTM, Snowplow, A/B testing, or Statsig.
- Preferred: hands-on iOS development with Swift.
- Preferred: web frontend experience with React, TypeScript, or browser telemetry.
- Preferred: backend or data engineering context with Node.js, Python, REST/gRPC APIs, or data pipelines.
