Responsibilities
- Prepare technical designs and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide technical feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns, developing standard operating procedures, and maintaining codebases.
- Enhance applications by identifying improvement opportunities and designing and implementing solutions.
- Conduct code, architecture, and design reviews and collaborate with colleagues on technical implementation.
- Investigate and adopt relevant technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and modernization approaches.
- Assist customer support with technical issues and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects, make independent technical decisions, and mentor less experienced developers.
- Drive results across cross-functional teams while balancing short- and long-term product goals.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 10 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- At least 8 years of experience developing software or systems for large business environments.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Extensive experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Understanding of software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Experience leading cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and understanding LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact and operate from business strategy through detailed implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, interpersonal, customer-focus, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
