Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, and code reviews for robust, scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns and developing standard operating procedures.
- Maintain existing codebases, review code changes, and identify opportunities for application improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead and mentor other developers and contribute to technical direction for greenfield SaaS products.
- Drive cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Java full-stack development or Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 10 years of experience developing software or systems for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big-data solutions such as Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of at least one shell scripting language.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Understanding of LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Results-oriented, customer-focused approach with the ability to balance short- and long-term product goals.
