Responsibilities

  • Implement LLM-powered AI agent features for code interpretation, completion, and generation within Stratus HLS.
  • Build and test agentic pipelines connecting Stratus tools and APIs with prompt engineering, context retrieval, and RAG workflows.
  • Create reusable Skills and slash commands for AI coding agents, orchestrating multi-step tool calls and structured prompts.
  • Evaluate LLM models and frameworks, prototype AI techniques, and measure agent accuracy, latency, and user experience.
  • Write, review, and maintain production-quality C++ and Python code, including unit and integration tests and regression fixes.
  • Develop VS Code extension components in TypeScript/JavaScript to expose AI agent capabilities in the IDE.
  • Translate specifications into implementation plans and modular designs, participate in reviews, and document APIs and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and domain experts on HLS workflows and contribute to technical design discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field plus 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or a master’s degree plus 1+ year of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ or another compiled, statically typed language, including memory management and performance trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, or machine-learning workflows.
  • Experience with LLM APIs, AI agent frameworks, or machine-learning tools through academic projects, internships, or industry experience.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, modular software design, separation of concerns, and testability.
  • Ability to translate specifications into structured implementation tasks with clear interfaces and testable units.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, openCode, prompt-driven automation, VS Code extensions, Language Server Protocol, Debug Adapter Protocol, EDA/HLS, RAG, vector databases, embedding pipelines, LLM fine-tuning, Tcl, cloud ML inference, or open-source AI and developer-tooling contributions.
