Responsibilities

  • Own the realtime voice channel, including telephony and CPaaS integrations, streaming speech-to-text and text-to-speech pipelines, realtime model orchestration, and latency and quality budgets.
  • Develop full-stack product features using React and TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain multi-tenant architecture with configuration-based partner support.
  • Build safety and compliance capabilities including guardrails, content filtering, and PII redaction integration points.
  • Maintain revenue-critical deployments through observability, alerting, incident response, SLA performance, on-call support, and rollback planning.
  • Build platform capabilities used by forward-deployed engineers for partner telephony integrations and production launches.
  • Contribute through code reviews, architecture reviews, technical mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience with senior-level ownership of production systems and broad full-stack capability.
  • Hands-on experience with realtime systems such as voice applications, WebRTC/SIP, streaming media, or comparable low-latency products.
  • Strong front-end skills with React and TypeScript, backend expertise in Scala or another JVM language and/or Python, and cloud infrastructure experience with GCP or AWS.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools and the judgment to review, correct, and own production output.
  • Experience with operational systems concerns including SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, and rollback plans.
  • Strong problem-solving, pragmatic tradeoff-making, iterative delivery, and communication skills across product, design, and operations.
  • Conversational AI or LLM orchestration experience, including Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Whisper, or OpenAI Realtime, is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud telephony or CPaaS platforms such as Twilio, Amazon Connect, Genesys, or LiveKit is a plus.
  • Experience building customer service, CRM, contact center, or workflow automation tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with travel technologies such as PSS/GDS or hotel PMS/CRS is a plus but not required.
