Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and other stakeholders on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Build reliable backend systems, data pipelines, identity and event data systems, attribution capabilities, and conversion measurement integrations.
- Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call and keep-the-lights-on efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for quality and ownership through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience building marketing data and measurement systems using Google Tag Manager, GA4, advertising and conversion APIs, customer data platforms, attribution or mobile measurement platforms, and consent management platforms.
- Experience building production data pipelines and analytical models using Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow, including event-level data, identity resolution, attribution, or conversion measurement.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components and create elegant, simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes in large codebases and develop tools and practices that enable safe delivery.
- Strong ownership, feedback-seeking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
