Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for wireless communication systems, focusing on MAC-layer functionality.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and test engineers.
- Debug and troubleshoot firmware using lab equipment and software tools.
- Write and maintain firmware design and implementation documentation.
- Support system-level firmware integration and validation.
- Contribute to improving development processes and tools.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a college or university for the entire January–June 2027 co-op term.
- Be studying Computer Engineering or Computer Science at the bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD level; these fields and degree levels are preferred.
- Have working knowledge of C programming for embedded systems.
- Have familiarity with Python for scripting and automation.
- Understand microcontrollers, digital interfaces, and embedded development environments at a basic level.
- Exposure to JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, RTOS, Git, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and MAC-layer concepts is desired.
- Demonstrate problem-solving, communication, independent-work, and teamwork abilities.

- Full-time, in-person co-op in Hillsboro, Oregon, running January through June 2027.
- Engineering intern pay range is USD $26.00–$47.50 per hour, depending on education, duties, requirements, and work location.
