Responsibilities

Contribute to the architecture and development of enterprise Java applications across client and server components.
Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed nearshore, offshore, UK, and European teams.
Modernise legacy forensic systems and support modularisation and development of new platforms.
Design and optimise backend services, data models, integrations, and high-performance processing logic.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes.
Manage containerised environments and work within Git-based development processes.
Support code quality, automated testing, performance profiling, JVM tuning, production stability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, business, and IT stakeholders.
Support team mobilisation, onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer.

Extensive experience, stated as 8+ years, in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices.
Proven experience in software architecture and hands-on development.
Strong skills in Java 11 or Java 17, Java EE or Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, PostgreSQL, and WildFly Application Server.
Experience with object-oriented development, software architecture, design patterns, Clean Code, application modularisation, and legacy system evolution.
Experience with JPA, Hibernate, JPQL, CriteriaBuilder, backend services, data models, scalability, integrity, and performance optimisation.
Experience with Git-based workflows, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Maven, Eclipse Tycho, and automated build and release processes.
Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as forensics or LIMS is preferred.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Strong collaboration skills across distributed delivery teams.
