Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Applied IntuitionResponsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and architecture of UK-hosted infrastructure for internal development teams.
- Build and deploy products into cloud, on-premise, and air-gapped environments using infrastructure as code, and support them throughout their operational life.
- Host UK-approved AI models for secure programmes.
- Improve developer effectiveness by building tooling that removes development friction.
- Own CI/CD systems and deployment strategies and help integrate Hardware in the Loop systems.
- Debug and profile distributed-system edge cases and lead incident response when systems fail.
- Work with product managers and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Share solutions with infrastructure teams and the wider organisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying infrastructure for a production software product.
- Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong experience designing and building infrastructure with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerised systems, including deploying microservice-based applications.
- Confidence with one or more scripting languages such as Python or Bash and with Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu or RHEL.
- Ability to hold UK Security Clearance; current or previous clearance is preferred.
- Willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced environment and maintain strong system documentation.
- Nice-to-have experience includes 7+ years across infrastructure, platform, or DevOps roles; Kubernetes on bare metal or in air-gapped/classified networks; security and regulatory controls; vulnerability patching; Bazel; Nix; production ML model serving; data and real-time analysis pipelines; government national-security projects; and autonomy, robotics, or simulation products.
