Responsibilities
- Lead and drive technical solutions for complex, escalated, and critical problems reported by Databricks customers.
- Perform code-level analysis and systems architecture troubleshooting for Spark, SQL, Delta, DLT, Model Serving, data pipelines, and customer workloads.
- Act as a customer support advisor during incidents by communicating with stakeholders, finding mitigations, and resolving advanced use cases.
- Influence Engineering and Backline Support teams to improve Databricks products and stabilize customer production environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship in the Databricks platform and productionizing data and AI systems.
- Collaborate with product engineering and customer account teams to deliver customer results.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines.
- Mandatory experience with Apache Spark.
- Expertise with SQL databases or data warehouses such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Experience with ETL technologies such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend, or Fivetran.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with two or more Big Data technologies or areas, including Spark, Hadoop, Lakehouse architecture, Delta, data ingestion, data streaming applications, or ML/AI applications.
- Approximately 3 years of hands-on experience as a technical lead on a Data & AI Engineering team and as a go-to person for critical issues.
- Ability to influence cross-functionally with internal stakeholders or engineering teams.
- Hands-on public cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Technical degree or bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant experience.
- Prior support or customer-facing experience is not required.
