Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, inventories, modules, and plugins.
- Build reusable Ansible automation following Galaxy standards and organizational best practices.
- Administer Ansible Automation Platform and AWX, including organizations, inventories, credentials, projects, templates, and workflows.
- Integrate Ansible with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Git-based workflows.
- Implement automated testing with Molecule, Testinfra, and pytest.
- Automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance enforcement, system hardening, and drift remediation across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.
- Manage secrets with Ansible Vault and enterprise secret-management platforms.
- Review automation for security risks and automate CIS Benchmark and STIG-based hardening.
- Define Ansible architecture, coding, testing, linting, review, and development standards.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and create architecture documentation, runbooks, and onboarding guides.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Ansible experience on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Ansible Automation Platform or AWX.
- Expert knowledge of Ansible architecture, inventories, facts, SSH, WinRM, and network CLI connections.
- Advanced knowledge of Ansible playbook constructs and Jinja2 templating, filters, tests, and data transformations.
- Strong Python skills for scripting and custom Ansible module development.
- Deep understanding of Ansible roles and experience developing and publishing Ansible Collections through Galaxy or private Automation Hub.
- Experience with Ansible performance tuning, Git workflows, Linux administration, Ansible Vault, and enterprise secrets-management solutions.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible Kubernetes modules.
- Experience or advantageous knowledge of Event-Driven Ansible, AWX, and Receptor.
- Ability to establish automation standards, perform code reviews, mentor engineers, and produce technical documentation.
